Jo holds the position of Director of Corporate Affairs at NHS Leicester City where she was originally appointed as Director of Marketing, Communications and Patient and Public Involvement in 2007. Jo joined the NHS in 2002, heading up the Communications and PR function at Derby Hospitals.
Before joining the NHS Jo worked in the private sector, including within the chemicals and telecommunications industries, operating in Communications and PR-related roles and in service improvement linked to the Six Sigma methodology. Jo originally trained as an accountant and holds an honours degree in accounting.
Jo was appointed as chair of the national organisation, the Association for Healthcare Communications and Marketing in December 2008, having previously undertaken the committee role of Director of Finance for 2 years.
